1. PRIMOCIAK: A brief description of your film career.

ANGELO: Gioco con la telecamera da quando ho 12 anni e la rubai a mio padre di nascosto. Ricordo che una delle prime cose che feci era animare una lampada da comodino con la tecnica dello stop motion. Dark Resurrectionè un'opera prima. La prima che mi sento di presentare al pubblico.

2.PRIMOCIAK: Why did you decide to make cinema?

ANGELO: Non ho studiato cinema e non ho frequentato nessun tipo di scuole d'arte. Ma il cinema lo vivo da sempre. Si decide di mettere mano alla telecamera quando si vuole raccontare qualcosa. Era arrivato quel momento credo.

3. PRIMOCIAK: What is your point of view of cinema and how should it be done?

ANGELO: Il cinema in quanto forma d'arte può è deve essere fatto in ogni modo possibile. Poi potrà piacere o non piacere a seconda del gusto personale.

4. PRIMOCIAK: What do you think is the absolute necessary element in a film?

ANGELO: L'unico elemento indispensabile in un film è l'emozione. Se non viene trasmesso nulla, il film perde significato.

5. PRIMOCIAK: What do you like about modern cinema? What do you dislike and want changed?

ANGELO: Mi piace ciò che sta cambiando, le tecniche e la conoscenza sono sempre più raffinate. Il modo di raccontare le storie e' migliorato , è più coinvolgente, e sto apprezzando un ritorno alle emozioni. Un minor utilizzo della spettacolarità degli effetti visivi ed un ritorno a ciò che dovrebbero essere, un paesaggio in cui far muovere i protagonisti enfatizzando ciò che fanno e provano.

6. PRIMOCIAK: What do you think is necessary today for a filmmaker to succeed (honestly)?

ANGELO: Purtroppo l'abilità e le capacità personali non sono abbastanza. Senza le giuste conoscenze, e la solita buona dose di fortuna non si fa nemmeno la strada da casa al lavoro.

7. PRIMOCIAK: What are your tangible future projects?

ANGELO: Ho in mente un film con qualche elemento scifi con soggetto originale.

8. PRIMOCIAK: What are the most ambitious projects you would like to complete in your life?

ANGELO: Il progetto di un una serie di film scifi e drammatici con soggetto originale.

9. PRIMOCIAK: What do you think is your style? Do you have any reference points? Do you have teachers (even just in theory)?

ANGELO: Non saprei dire davvero quale sia il mio stile. Lo stile poi cambia, basta vedere le prime scene di Dark Resurrection che abbiamo girato e le ultime per percepire già un mutamento. Posso dire chi è stato nella mia crescita fonte di ammirazione, ma la lista è lunga e molto varia: Leone, Raimi, Spielberg, Tarantino, Who.... Ma questi sono solo i primi che mi vengono in mente.

10. PRIMOCIAK: What do you think about PRIMOCIAK creating a sort of non-profit embassy of cinema in every nation, which would then be able to aid all Filmmakers?!

ANGELO: Credo che sarebbe una cosa fantastica creare una specie di "comunità" di filmmakers sparsi in tutto il mondo. Personalmente credo che questa possa essere la mia occasione di capire cosa sono in grado di fare come regista. Dopo questo qualsiasi tipo di idea o capacità personale diventa preziosa e dovrebbe essere condivisa. Questo è quello che già stiamo facendo con Dark Resurrection.

Interview to Angelo Licata ( Film Director )

1. PRIMOCIAK: A brief description of your film career.

ANGELO: I've been playing with the camera since I was 12 years old. I stole it to my father and I remember that one of the first things I did was animating a lamp trough the stop motion technique. Dark Resurrection is actually my very first work. The first I feel I can show to the people.

2. PRIMOCIAK: Why did you decide to make cinema?

ANGELO: I never studied direction and didn't attend any kind of school of arts but I've always been into movies. I think you decide to start filming when you have something to tell and you want to show it. The moment has arrived, I think.

3. PRIMOCIAK: What is your point of view of cinema and how should it be done?

ANGELO: The art of cinema should be improved in any possible way. People may like or dislike it. It depends on personal taste.

4. PRIMOCIAK: What do you think is the absolute necessary element in a film?

ANGELO: The absolute necessary element in a film is emotion!
A movie should transmit emotions. If it doesn't transmit anything the movie is insignificant.

5. PRIMOCIAK: What do you like about modern cinema? What do you dislike and want changed?

ANGELO: I like what is changing: techniques are quickly improving. The way of telling stories is more attractive and involving, there is a turning back to emotions and special effects are used just as an emphasizing landscape where you can make your characters move. I like this very much.

6. PRIMOCIAK: What do you think is necessary today for a filmmaker to succeed (honestly)?

ANGELO: Unfortunately the ability and personal skills aren't enough. Without the right contacts in the field and a lot of luck you can't even go from home to work!

7. PRIMOCIAK: What are your tangible future projects?

ANGELO: My future project is a movie with some sci-fi elements based on an original subject.

8. PRIMOCIAK: What are the most ambitious projects you would like to complete in your life?

ANGELO: A sci-fi and drammatic serial with original subject.

9. PRIMOCIAK: PRIMOCIAK What do you think is your style?Do you have any reference points? Do you have teachers (even just in theory)?

ANGELO: I don't really know what is my style. I think style changes. You can see this in Dark Resurrection: the first part of the movie evolves into something different so that in the end it looks a little bit different. I can say what are my admiration sources but I have a long and varied list of directors: Leone, Raimi, Spielberg, Tarantino, Who.... and these are just some of them.

10. PRIMOCIAK: What do you think about PRIMOCIAK creating a sort of non-profit embassy of cinema in every nation, which would then be able to aid all Filmmakers?! What could you do to help this vision?

ANGELO: I think that it would be an amazing thing to create a sort of "community" of filmmakers all over the world. Cooperating and give the personal contribute to build something great is the spirit that animate our work. Personally I think this could be my chance to see what I am able to do as a director. After this any kind of idea or professional skill becomes precious and should be shared. This is what we are already doing in Dark Resurrection.
